The Krasnoyarsk Museum of local lore
The current Museum building, built in art Nouveau style and stylized ancient Egyptian temple, designed by the famous Krasnoyarsk architect Leonid Alexandrovich Chernyshev (1875-1932). In 1912 the city Council of Krasnoyarsk have created a Committee for the construction of the building Museum. For the construction of the project has been selected Chernyshev. Leonid agreed to design the building and to monitor progress. Construction began in 1913, after his appointment as Governor of the Yenisei province I. I. Kraft.

Due to the outbreak of the First world war the building was left unfinished. It long housed the barracks, and in 1920 a military hospital. In the same 1920, in the fumigation of premises gray unfinished building burned. The renovation began only in 1927. The Museum building was finally completed only in 1929.

Since 1930 the exhibition and the Museum are located in the existing building Chernyshevsky. During the great Patriotic war the exposition was dismantled; the building housed the Office of the Northern sea route. In 1987-2001, the years carried out a large-scale reconstruction of the Museum. On the North side was built a modern storage facility. In 2013, the facades of the Museum was refurbished and brought to the historic.

The lives of people inextricably connected with the construction. Now we are surrounded by the same type of glass and dull high-rise panel house. But people used to think architecture is art, put soul into construction, worked over every detail. Temples, mansions, museums built in the past centuries are a reflection of the soul and Outlook of the people of his time. So this semester I decided to dedicate the display of architectural monuments of Krasnoyarsk. I want to tell you about the history of the construction, features, and beauty of these buildings.
